Rich
and Jane moved to Door County, Wisconsin
to paint and
enjoy the scenery. They are both
graphic artists,
having met in the early fifties at New Center Studios,
in Detroit, Michigan where they were employed; Rich as
an automobile illustrator and Jane as a lettering artist.
Rich is a graduate of Meinzinger Art School in Detroit,
and Jane is a graduate of the American Academy of Art
in Chicago. They both did artwork for national advertising.
In
1960, they moved their family to the San Francisco Bay
area. Rich became an art director and Jane a
freelance lettering and design artist. Richard's interest
was in forming his own art business. Preferring
to open it in the midwest,
in 1968 he opened Delgraphics Studio, Inc. on Michigan
Ave. in Chicago, Illinois. In 1989, they retired the corporation
and moved to Fish Creek, WI. The name has changed to Del
Graphics, meaning "of the graphics". They still
continue as artists of commercial & fine art. Their
work is shown in various Door County art galleries and
gift shops.
